About the Pocoapoco Executive Board

Pocoapoco is a US 501c3 nonprofit organization, led by a Board of Directors from across the US and Mexico.

  • Based in the central valley of Oaxaca, Pocoapoco provides artists & thinkers space for creative exchange and the development of new works and ideas. Our programs offer opportunities for collective reflection and dialogue between local and international participants, fostering a culture of connection and reciprocity across disciplines & communities.

    OUR VISION

    We envision a society in which creative practice is valued & understood as a non-exclusive and necessary tool for human reflection, relation, and action.

  • We invite our board members to:

    • Become an integral part of our community, working with us to provide artists & thinkers space for creative exchange and the development of new works and ideas, as well as opportunities for collective reflection and dialogue between communities & cultures.

    • Act as ambassadors and fiduciaries for the organization, ensuring due diligence and commitment to our mission.

    • Work together to grow and strengthen our organization, expanding opportunities and deepening impact.

    • Join us each year for an in-person board meeting in Oaxaca to connect with our staff, home, programs and collaborators.

    Board members commit to:

    • Serve a minimum of two years on the board.

    • Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in bi-monthly board meetings.

    • Give or get a minimum of $5000 USD per fiscal year for the organization.

    • Stay up to date on Pocoapoco’s current programs, goals & needs.

    • Actively assist in securing adequate resources for the organization to fulfill its mission.

    • Approve and monitor the organization’s programs, services and budget.

    • Act as advocates of the organization, activating and engaging networks & connections. • Apply personal & professional skills to the organization as needed.

    Currently, we are a small (five-staff-member) organization, looking for board members that are engaged and motivated to fulfill our mission alongside our team.
